Are You Worthy?

Do you question your worthiness to have something in your life?

This pops up in your head in different ways.

You may think you just aren’t the person who will have the perfect boyfriend. Or you may not believe you are the person that will reach a certain level of career success.

This all comes down to your belief in yourself. You are measuring what you believe you can do based on your past and what you believe to be the truth.

If, you don’t have the results you want in your life its all because of your belief.

I have some steps you can take to figure out what your belief is about yourself and what you can do to kick the bad ones out and turn into the queen that you are.

1. Dig out the thoughts

The thoughts are there. They may be deep and you may not be aware of all of them. They’re lurking and they’re killing your growth.

Thought downloads need to become your new bestie. I do thought downloads EVERYDAY.

It’s the secret to becoming the person you have dreamed of being.

Ready to know how to do a thought download?

Take out a piece of paper.

Write a situation a circumstance at the top. (circumstances are neutral, they don’t have any descriptive words and they are completely factual. They should be provable in the court of law)

Any thought you have about that circumstance goes on the paper.

It is really important to not filter your thoughts. Put the cold hard truth there.

This is where the magic is.

2. Pause

Now you have this list of thoughts. It may be 5 thoughts or three pages long.

Those thoughts are the ones standing between you and what you are seeking.

If, all your thoughts are positive and you don’t have the results you want then they aren’t the thoughts you truly believe. Go back and get in touch with yourself. Be vulnerable.

All those thoughts feel real crappy.

The:

 – I’ve never done this before and I don’t know how.

-What if they don’t like me.

-Other people have it easier, I can never do that.

-I’ve tried it before and it didn’t work so it won’t be any different this time.

You want to rush to change them. All you want to know is how to fix them.

This is when you pause. Breathe.

Before you can fix anything in your life you need to become truly aware of it. Notice how your body is reacting to the thought. The feelings that come up. Tap into it. Lean into it.

3. Prove yourself wrong

Take your list of thoughts and prove each one of them wrong.

Counter each one with ways it is not true or just ridiculous.

Take the thought I’ve never done this before and I don’t know how.

Of course, you don’t know how to do it because you’ve never done it before. What does that matter?  There are so many things that you didn’t know how to do until you did them. Driving a car. Making toast. Using Instagram. Literally anything new in your life. You figured them all out.

Your brain lies to you all the time. You really can’t trust it. Take control over it and tell it what is what.

4. Take action anyways

All those thoughts you have proved wrong have not vanished. They are probably still hiding right around the corner waiting to pounce.

What you need to move into is realizing that discomfort isn’t always a bad thing. You want to clean up your thoughts and especially the ones that aren’t serving you.

But you aren’t going to eradicate thoughts that cause discomfort. Things can be hard and scary and you can do them anyways.

Separate the thoughts that are true blocks to taking action and the ones that are coming along for the ride.

5. Shifting your thoughts

You now know your problem thoughts and how they are wrong. But, how do you get to truly believing in yourself.

Forcing new thoughts on yourself will never be the solution. You can’t go from I’m not good at this to I’m amazing and of course I’ll succeed. So, you make pit stops along the way.

Believing I’m amazing may not be possible right now. Could you believe I’m learning how to be better at this? Or even if that is too far of a jump right could you believe it’s possible for me to be better at this?

Those thoughts feel different than I’m not good at this.

You start with the thought you believe. Noticing the possibility is the first step. Then you move incrementally as your belief increases.

It’s a process not a miracle cure that is going to happen in one day.

Final Thoughts –

Facing the beliefs, you have about yourself is not the fun work but it is the necessary work. Your life, what you have and what you do, is all spurred on by that belief.

There is nothing wrong with you or your brain if you don’t have the life that you want. It just means that you have to get in touch with those thoughts and start paying attention. Sit with them awhile instead of rushing to fix them.

Gaining the awareness is half the battle. See how those thoughts have shown up and made your life what it is. Tap into the feelings you have because of them. Once you are super familiar with them start showing yourself how those thoughts are so not true.

Shifting your thoughts to shift your life is worth the work. You can do the things that are hard.

Until you believe in yourself just know that I sit here with full belief in you.
