Life can sometimes feel like it is happening to you. Going through the days feeling as if you have no control over what is happening.

Or giving focus to those things that you feel you should do or that you have to do. While things you want to do take the backseat.

You may wake up one day to find your life to be far of the course you dreamed it would have been on.

Life can just be hard to navigate.

This is where intentional living comes in.

Intentional living is choosing to do the things that mean the most to you while ignoring the things that don’t matter. It is making decisions that support what you want your life to be. It is consciously choosing everyday to create your life rather than let it pass you by.

Living with intention will allow you to design a happy life and leave behind regrets.

Signs you need to start living intentionally

  • You feel out of control
  • You don’t know what is next for you in life.
  • You just wait and see
  • You hope things will happen
  • You have no idea how you ended up where you are
  • Your life doesn’t feel fulfilling
  • You want things in life but don’t know how to get there
  • You aren’t happy with your life
  • You often find yourself wishing things were different
  • You aren’t living the best version of your life

Why Live Intentionally

Life may not be all that you want it to be right now. There are things you want to accomplish or have that you haven’t yet. Intentional living is how you can get there. But before looking at all the benefits you need to understand why you would choose to live intentionally.

It is fun to create the life that you want. To see how you can transform and what you can achieve. But, this isn’t a fix to all your problems or to fix you.

You aren’t broken. There isn’t anything wrong with you. You are already a 100% worthy and amazing.

There is nothing you have to do to be amazing. Living intentionally will help show you that. Until you believe that full heartedly I will hold that belief for you.

Living intentionally will not solve all your problems. There is no miracle cure for all problems in life.

Problems are forever – you may be able to solve problems in one area of your life but other problems are going to pop up. This is okay and exactly how it should be.

You don’t have to be afraid of problems and some problems you may prefer to have over others.

An example would be single people problems go away when you get married but then you have married people problems. Just know that where ever over there is that you are trying to get to will have its own set of problems.

The Benefits of Intentional Living

Your journey of living intentionally will have many positive side effects.

Better decision making

When you start living intentionally you will be really clear on what is important to you and what isn’t. You will be able to separate things that support what you want your life to be and those that aren’t important.

When choosing whether or not something is going to be part of your life you will be able to refer to the vision that you create to see if it aligns with it. Things that don’t fit into that vision just aren’t something you do.

This will take time but the more you do it the better you get at it.

Knowing ahead of time

You will know and make decisions ahead of time. What this really means is that instead of reacting to your life and what is happening around you there will be conscious decisions beforehand.

This will eliminate confusion and stress when trying to figure out what to do in the moment. You will have already decided and made a plan.

A simple example is people who live intentionally have thought about all life categories including health. Which means they have a clear picture of what that means to them including how food fits into it. The decision on what to eat becomes simple. You already decided and know ahead of time what is and isn’t part of your intake.

Leads you to where you want to go

When you evaluate the results, you have in your life after living on autopilot you may find them to not match up with where you thought you would be. This happens because of instead of making decisions based on what you want in life you were just getting by.

After you choose to live with intention you purposely create a path to the end result you want.

Gives you power and control

The feeling of being powerless of your results is awful. Moving through life not believing you have any control of your results and are just waiting to see what happens is a lackluster life.

Life can feel out of control at times. Practicing intentional living shows you how to take back that control.

Setting your intentions means you become the driver of your life. You have the power of what you do.

Finds your purpose and passion

I don’t know.

That phrase is one of the most harmful phrases you can have in your life.

When asked, “what do you want to do with your life?” or “do you like what you are doing?” does your mind go blank?

You don’t have to keep looking for your purpose or passion in your life. When you live with intention you become clear on what those are.

Final Note –

Don’t let life happen to you, make life happen for you.

The effort and work to live with intention is worth it.

Remember that you are already 100% worthy of anything you want. You are valuable and amazing. I believe that with my whole heart and know you have it in you to be what you want to be.
